Children are hardest hit by swine flu in Ireland

Nearly one in 10 of patients with swine flu who were admitted to hospital since the start of the outbreak were serious enough to be admitted to intensive care. The age group most likely to be hospitalised were children under five years and 457 (43pc) of all hospitalised cases had an existing medical condition.
